Description
Our direct daughter of Ekstein (damsire of Hickstead) carrying the precious blood of Cruising on the damside.
Bijin grew up in Europe and was started and trained with Monica under Olympic Show Jumper Tim Stockdale of the UK in January 2010. They then moved to the yard of Daniel Delsart, the French rider/trainer who started many of Tim's horses. Bijin jumped 1.10m courses with him and received reports from her trainers that she was a very quick learner, eager to please and had a very quick technique over fences.
After a year off in the UK to have a filly foal in 2011--Gaijin S by Olympic Quintus, Bijin travelled to VDL Stud in Holland to continue her training before being imported in foal to Inshallah de Muze in the Spring of 2014.
Bijin possesses a sweet temperament with the jaw dropping presence and ground covering movement of a big horse.
Bijin is blooded with a very quick foreleg technique and good balance. Her small stature and short coupled-ness allows her the quick reflexes that are needed to produce a modern show jumper.

And all of this production came from only approximately 550 breedings in the Netherlands, which produced along with Joel and the dam of Hickstead the international Grand Prix showjumpers King, Kasmir, Juska, etc.
After arriving in Ireland Ekstein sired the international Grand Prix showjumper Ulysses m2s and the international showjumpers Diamond Toby (birth name Elvis the King m2s), Wind Shear m2s, and Ardragh Stein. Ekstein descends from the world-famous Niki damline. Besides Ekstein his dam Zaniki (a full sister to the international stallion Palfrenier) produced two progeny that became 5-Year-Old Showjumping Champions in the Netherlands. Ekstein’s grand-dam Aniki is a half-sister to Nick Skelton’s famous horse Apollo, twice winner of the

Damline
Bijin brings a highly interesting combination of Irish thoroughbred blood, represented in her dam Ozy Cruise M2S, an outcome of the Irish ET project to perpetuate valuable Irish bloodlines as well as the blood of the famous thoroughbreds Ozymandias xx and Nordlys xx also in her pedigree.
Bijin's dam-sire Cruising’s dam, Mullacrew was an International showjumper, winning at top European shows. Mullacrew’s sire, Nordlys was the sire of many famous jumpers, including the 1972 individual Olympic gold medalist, Ambassador (Italy).
Cruising’s grand-dam, Big Idea was a full sister to the Irish stallion, Ideal Waters. Big Idea was by Water Serpent, the sire of international jumpers like Rockette and The Rock. Water Serpent was also the foundation sire in Patricia Nicholson’s successful eventing horse breeding program.
As a competitor himself, Cruising was a star – winning Grand Prix at Aachen (1999), Dortmund (1999), Lucerne (1998), San Marino (1996) and Wolfsburg (1996). He was the winner of three World Cup Qualifiers: Millstreet (1997, 1998) and Geneva (1998). His eventer son, Mr Medicott, ridden by Frank Ostholt, won the World Cup CIC 2007 in Strzegom (POL).
In the 2006 Jumping Stallions’ rankings, as compiled by Bernard le Courtois in Monneron 2007-2008, Cruising ranks equal 24th with 11 international representatives.
In 2010, Cruising was ranked #5 on the USEF Leading Jumper Sires list and is the sire of Olympic Flexible ridden by Rich Fellers.
